Being produced by RAI3, it tends to be a bit more of a negative view on the last years of his pontificate.

I don't think it can be argued that Paul VI is a forgotten pope. Unpopular mostly likely so but not forgotten. Most people would be familiar with his name. An example of a forgotten pope would be Pius XI or something like that.
