Retreats
just posting to inform my reads that i will be away from posting as of tomorrow until Wednesday and then again from Friday until Sunday. I have just hit two retreats, first the school retreat and then i have the annual alliance of the holy family international retreat. I hope my co-bloggers will meet your blogging fix.

I am a lover of the rich traditions of the Church. A convert from Protestism and now a Catholic it's amazing how the spirit lead me to love treasures like the Tridentine Rite.
I will suggest that instead of sounding so pro-Tridentine why not be a sign to show others that both Novus Ordo and Tridentine are both SAME. In that both rites lead the sould towards GOD.
Just a suggestion.

That is so true Kenneth. I have been writing a lot about the Missal of John XXIII a lot because the Motu Proprio has been such hot news. When it all settles down ( and I have about another 3 posts before I exhaust all my material) I can write some more about the Missal of Paul VI and its proper celebration.
As for me I love both Missals equally, when celebrated properly.
It is possible, after many misconceptions regarding the Novus Ordo Mass have been resolved, that a conflation of the two usages will emerge. How long that will take is anyone's guess, mine is ten years. Hopefully, Pope Benedict XVI will be around to guide the progress.
I do not think it will be 10 years, that the two forms of the Roman Rite will merge. I believe that it will be 100s of years if at all. The forms are too distinct and come from completely different cultural millieu.
I think the closest Mass to what the Second Vatican Council wanted was the 1965 missal.
